Power faults and outages

What to do if there is an electrical fault or outage

Electricity faults and outages can happen for several reasons, from power line updates to storms and grid outages. They can be sudden, unexpected and inconvenient.

The best solution is to contact your distributor directly if you experience a fault or emergency. Your distributor manages your electricity meter, wires, and power poles and are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week to help you.

Your distributor is determined by your NMI (National Meter Identifier) - this is a unique number used to identify your meter which you can find on your energy bill.

The distributor for your address, including their contact number, is also set out in your bill under Faults and Emergencies.
