Submit a self-meter read
If you receive an estimated bill, you can request an adjustment by submitting a self-reading using the instructions below.
Gas
How to read your gas meter
Metric meter: Record the numbers from left to right. Example reading: 2932.
Dial (imperial) meter: Record each dial's number from left to right. If a pointer falls between two numbers, record the lower number. Example reading: 3032.
What you need to do
1. Take a clear photo with proof of date: Ensure the photo clearly includes the meter number and current reading along with the date (either by having a newspaper, receipt, or through the image properties).
2. Send us the photo and your details: Email your photo along with the below details to support@energy.acrline.com.au. Please put your name and account number in the email subject line.
- Account number
- Full name
- Phone number
- Email address associated with the account
- Supply address
- MIRN number (for gas) / NMI number (for electricity)
- Meter reading date
- Meter number
- Gas meter reading
- Provide any details about what you believe is incorrect about your usage calculation.
3. Confirmation: Shortly after you'll get a confirmation email from our customer care team.
4. Bill update: Your bill will be updated, and a new one will be sent to you. You will have 14 days to make the payment.

Electricity
In Victoria, most households have a smart meter which sends accurate meter readings to us remotely. Therefore, self-meter reads cannot be accepted for smart meters.
